             Wayne Gretzky developed his love for hockey in his early years. From the very first game Wayne Gretzky played in the NHL, he was just a little better then the rest of the players. His reputation as the best hockey player goes beyond his skating through because he is known for his great community involvement
             To begin, Wayne Gretzky developed his love for hockey in his early years. He started playing when he was young. Wayne Gretzky was born January 26, 1961 in Brantford Ontario and his father Walter taught him all about hockey when he was little. Wayne Gretzky started playing hockey in his early years his father Walter taught him the basics of hockey as he was growing up. As Wayne Gretzky grew older his dad started to teach him more about hockey. At the age of two or three Gretzky's dad taught Wayne how to skate he would walk around the ice with Wayne so he would be able to get use to the ice and his skates. When Wayne Gretzky was growing up at the age of 5 his father built him a big ice rink in his backyard where he would play their all day and at night where he would be practice his skating and his puck handling (www.brantfordminorassociation.com). Wayne Gretzky had a good childhood and loved the game of hockey and that you knew a superstar was born.
             From the very first time Wayne Gretzky played in the NHL, he was just a little better than the rest of the players. When Gretzky turned eleven he scored 378 goals. Gretzky scored 378 goals at the age of eleven during the 1971-1972 season(Steve Dryden). Wayne Gretzky's father Walter coached Wayne's team while he was playing but quite after 3 years.
