He Got Game
He Got Game is a good movie because it teaches a lesson, it makes us understandthe tragedy of Jake's life, and it shows how Jesus has to make difficult decisions. The movie, He Got Game, teaches a lesson, especially to those people who havefamilies on their own, that parents can't push their kids in doing what they want them todo and not what their kids want to do. Roger Ebert says that the movie is "more of aheartbreaker about a father and his son." I agree because when Jake tried to convince hisson, Jesus, to go to Big State University in order for him to get an early parole in prison,
I feel that even if Jesus' fatherhas done something really bad in the past, Jesus shouldn't treated his father like he didn'teven know him and never existed in his life and besides the incident that happened to hismother was just an accident. Mike Clark says that, "they just want what theyperceive to be their share from the coming bounty. My dadwould pushed me really hard to study in order for me to be one of the graduates who havehonor. Janet Maslin says that, "Jesus hates hisfather and won't give him the time of day" to talk to him. So when graduation came, he was so proud and wouldn'tthink that I will make it. This movie also shows how Jesus has to make difficult decision because when anagent, his coach, girlfriend, uncle, and groupies-on-call offered him money, cars, house, and more, since he's the country's #1 high school prospect, he didn't accept any of thosebecause it's illegal for him to take it. I once told him not to worry about anything and told him to have faith in me buthe didn't believe me at all. When I was still in high school, he would always scold mewhenever I get low grades and would always expect me to get straight A's. He Got Game is one of my favorite movie I have seen because it somewhat relatesbetween my dad and I. This movie makes us understand the tragedy of Jake's life because when Jake triedto pushed his son to play good in basketball in which Jake ended up in prison for killinghis wife accidently while arguing with his son. But no matter what Jesus do, Jake is still the person whomade him. " I feel that once Jesus gets famousthey would just use him to get themselves rich.
