Euthanasia
Euthanasia is the practice of ending a life painlessly so as to release an individual from an incurable disease or intolerable suffering with their agreement. Voluntary euthanasia involves a request by the dying patient or that person's legal representative to help him to die e.g. turning off the life support machine. Passive or negative euthanasia involves not doing something to prevent death, that is, allowing someone to die; active or positive euthanasia involves taking deliberate action to cause a death. In ancient Greece and Rome it was permissible in some situations to help others die. With the rise of organized religion, euthanasia became morally and ethically abhorrent. Following traditional religious principles, Western laws have generally considered the act of helping someone to die a form of homicide subject to legal sanctions. Even a passive withholding of help to prevent death has frequently been severely punished. Whether it is voluntary, passive or active euthanasia, it should not be supported or legalized in any country. We are God's children. Only he can decide to take our life. It is not ours to take. Christianity, Judaism, Islam and many other religions hold human life sacred and condemn euthanasia in any form
' Taking away someone's life is considered as murder in the understanding of religion. A few months ago the King of Jordan went to the USA to be cured from cancer. To avoid such a plight, euthanasia should not be carried out in any hospital no matter what he reasons where. " When a relative of friend watches the patient suffer then there would be an emotional strain on him or her. We have to remember that now this life is just a test for us. She stated once 'I'm writing this message with my left foot. Let's say that he got terminally ill and was living on drugs and antibiotics. He pretends that he is emotionally distressed and tells the doctors to turn off the machine because he cannot bear to see her in that condition. Another example is that there was a patient who was living with the help of a life support machine. " Marilyn Carr is a severely handicapped woman whom managed to write with the only moving part of her body, her left foot. This situation brings out the inequality or prejudice in human kind. Joseph's Hospice, mentioned in one article "The suffering in so many cases is on the part of the beholder and not the patient. Who decides to turn the life support machine off or to stop giving drugs to the patient that helps him to live? The patient is no condition to respond and he is emotionally effected. 'We conclude that euthanasia must not be legalized in any country because it is not morally or religiously accepted.
