Medieval Weapons and Protection

The Middle Ages hold many of the world's most curious weapons. Knights used many different types of weapons. These included swords, daggers and lances. Some were for long-range, such as the longbow, short bow and cross bow and some were for close encounters. They protected themselves with suits of armor (closely woven metal, and metal sheets) and shields. There were also gigantic weapons used to tear down whole castles. They did that so the knight, his enemies, and his allies would be able to identify each other in battle. ple could hide daggers in walking sticks. ) The long bow was about six feet long or bigger and was one of the most useful weapons. Some were half the size of the knight, but as could also be as heavy as the big one. The cross bow was a load and fire weapon made of wood and iron. They would probably think that they were magic and evil. Knights with bows and arrows mostly used the larger shields. It was a spiked ball on a short chain that is attached to a wooden handle. They could destroy a whole wall of a castle in one single shot.
