The boys could not afford to buy the expensivemetal, so they stold pieces from the railroad track. Each boy contributed his ownthoughts and suggestions as to how he could improve the rocket. He tried to explain to the guys why the rocket was malfunctioning. To achievesuccess, one must work with a team by contributing thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. Quinton figured out the factsand figures about the rockets. Riley inspired Homer and gave him the confidence he needed to succeed in hislife. Homer encouraged the "Rocket Boys"throughout the movie. Roy Lee showed the boys where they could purchase alcohol that they needed for the rocket. Teamwork allowed them to get their work done faster and easier. O'dell had the idea to go to the railroadand steal the metal they so desperately needed.
