             With the development of society, the rhythm of modern life is becoming faster and faster. Many people have suffered from the stress and strain of life. So stress has become a normal part of life. Psychologically speaking, stress is a kind of disease of modern society. There are many causes of stress which come from work, family and social life.
             The first cause of stress stems from work. When people start a career, they expect that they would be satisfied. If there is job overload, they need to work long hours to fulfil unrealistic work targets. This sustained overtime causes them to be under the big pressure. Another situation is job under load. Due to not having enough responsibilities, people will feel the job lacking in challenge and very boring. Monotonous work makes them have a sense of wasting time and energy. As a result, they become anxious and feel stressed. Furthermore, poor management in a company will easily cause staff members to have a sense of frustration. Over supervision and lacking of consultation make them stressed. In addition, though some people are very satisfied with their job, they may worry about the fact that they will lose the job. Redundancy is one of the results of economic rationalism which cause companies to downsize, resulting in jobs being under threat. Thus, all employees in a shrinking company have to perform better in order to keep the job. So they are also under stress.
             The second cause of stress comes from family life. Having a good family life is very important to most people. They hope that they can enjoy a wonderful time with their family. But life is full of so much trifling things and sacrifices need to be made by some members of the family from time to time. If they can not respect and understand each other, friction will result from the unrealistic expectations.
