             Fishing among other things, is a very simple sport that consists of mainly one thing, which is having fun. Throughout the years, many people such as Ernest Hemingway and Thomas Scott have revolutionized it. These men wrote pertaining to fishing and how it should be and how it really was. Many more ideas have risen since their day, such as distinct types of graphite rods and GPS systems. To understand fishing you must first know the terminology. "Rod and reel" is self-explanatory but such terms as "GPS and WAAS" are not. They are both mapping devices that tell fishermen where their exact location is. "Fishing is changing" (Principles 1). The art of fishing has matured the current world by advancing ahead in the new millennium.
             In recent years, the purpose of anglers has turned from catch and kill to catch and release. Since this extreme change has gone into effect millions of fish have been spared and the populations are exploding. This can only mean good things to us. All that needs to be done is get the length of the fish, its girth, and some good photos of it, that is if you still want to catch all the fish you want. " This type of mount looks authentic and will last a lot longer than a skin mount, that deteriorates over the years" (Burke 2). The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources has unveiled a new program that would allow anglers to catch and release record fish. The only thing an individual would need to do is get the measurements of the fish on film. "This program has been initiated to allow anglers to be recognized for catching large fish without having to kill them" (New Record Fish Program 1). Today a lot of the tournament trails are turning to catch and release only and all fishing !
