Friendship is Priceless

             "Hey, Trina, how are you? You will never believe what I am about to tell you! We are moving to Kentucky."
             "This is final?" she asked quietly.
             This is how one of my phone calls to my best friend went when my parents told my siblings and me that we were moving to Kentucky. It had never crossed my mind that our family would move out of Washington. It was a nightmare come true. Don't get me wrong. I am not saying that Kentucky is a bad state. It isn't. The only reason why I didn't want to move out of Washington was because that was where I had spent my whole life. Imagine leaving all you know and moving to a state that you have never been to and know absolutely nothing about. This means a new home, new school, new job, new friends...basically it's starting a new life in a new place. This was not my idea of fun and excitement.
             We had only one month left in Washington. It was hard to believe. There was so little time left, and so many unfinished things to do. I began to realize that some things never stay the same. That was what happened in my life this summer. The preparations for the move started. We had to go to the schools to withdraw and to get our transcripts. We had to close back accounts because there are no banks like Washington Mutual or Bank of America in Nicholasville or Lexington. My dad had to get a whole bunch of paper work done because he had worked with that company for more than eight years. Therefore, the company had to get his retirement papers done. Then my mom and I had to find people to take our places at work. We worked as janitors, and it wasn't easy to find people to take our places because not many people wanted to be janitors.
             I wanted the days to go as slow as possible, but the days went by faster. I wished time would stop, but it didn't. Soon, there was only one week left. Only seven days left to spend with my best f
