Abortion

I'm writing about abortion, the rights, the innocent babies, and the society we live in. There are a few more important things issues in this country today than abortion. Combine a society that is partially governed by religion with scientifically uneducated community and the fever of catchy slogans and both sides and this divisiveness is almost acceptable. Given the current advances in science, this is only likely to get worse. All of the rhetoric around abortion has confused the real issue. In essence abortion is a medical procedure with ethical implications. Any argument on the legality of abortion that is based on different ethical values is doomed to come to a standstill. The key issue of debate on abortion involves the meaning of what it is to be alive. This is a question that politicians and scientists have tried to answer often, but one that can easily be answered by scientists. Life does not begin at birth, conception, or any time in between. Life is a perpetual process that has evolved since the first humans appeared on earth. It is meaningless to say that a fertilized egg is any more alive and conscious than an unfertilized one. The real issue is the expendability of human life. It would be di

Some people say that because we communicate very well, some say that it is becaus4e we are very creative, and because we use tools. The question of legality then becomes a game of what rationalization is valid enough to justify the action. It is because all of us are very intelligent, civilized, agricultural, and also several other attributes that we are different from animals in a scientific way. I think that few people if any would argue that a late pregnancy termination is justifiable for !economic reasons. Well as we all know that there are a lot of ethical reasoning for almost any action. The key issue I believe seems to revolve around the rights of the murdered. However in most cases of abortion, government should allow doctors and patients to make the decision. I have always believed that people should take responsibility for their own actions. We as humans are in fact, breeding species of animals, plants microbes, and almost all other living things in order to kill them. Killing some other living thing, under almost all our ethical system is considered very bad, and wrong. Well last but not least, I believe that the government has the responsibility to step in and not permit the murder of its unborn citizen, especially an innocent baby, if there was intent to destroy the child late in pregnancy for questionable reasons. But still the question then becomes, are our purposes enough justification for our actions? Then again what are our purposes, what are our actions, and what are our options? I myself believe that in the case of rape and incest, only the most fervent opponents of abortion will say that it is unethical. It is the only ethical decision I believe. This is what I think and are some of my thoughts on this big issue which is Abortion. So I ask myself, where is the middle line? Or maybe in fact is that really the issue? Ethical values are based on a guide of living chosen individual.
