Abortion...Birth Control or Legal Murder?Approximately 1.6 million murders are committed legally eachyear. With the exception of laws in a few states, the mutilatedbodies of victims lay waiting in the infested dumpsters to be hauledoff to a landfill, the murders are in their offices waiting for theirnext patient, the accomplice to the murder. This is the murder ofan innocent child by a procedure known as abortion. Abortionstops the beating of an innocent child's heart. People must nolonger ignore the medical and emotional problems an abortioncauses women. People must stop denying the facts about theprocedure and start hearing the silent screams of the unbornchildren. The argument of the pro-abortion side is that the unbornchild is not truly a child. Many people who are pro-abortionjustify their beliefs through the concept that a fetus is only a blobof tissue until it is born, or the statement: Life begins at birth. Abortion is not as simple as removing a "blob of tissue" ( as thepro-abortion activists put it ) from a women's body. Abortion isthe destruction, dismembering, and killing of a human life. "But itis scientific and medical fact based on experimental evidence, that
little or no biological informationabout the fetus which the abortion would destroy. Manyargue that most of the babies that are aborted would be abused andneglected. If one crushes a pop can as theabortionist crushes the baby, the pop can feels no pain because it isnot living. People need to start caring for the women who are hurting as aresult of an abortion, and women who are struggling over thedecision. "A curette, which is a loop-shaped steelknife, is inserted into the uterus, and the baby are cut into piecesand scraped out. An early abortion takes about five minutes and isperformed six to fourteen weeks after the women's last period. The US Department of Health andHuman Services reported that "After nine weeks unborn babies canfeel pain," yet 48 percent of all abortions are done after this point(Fetal Development). No other person has the right totake away the unborn child's life, no matter what the situation is. They believeabortion is saving the child from abuse. All unborn babies have the right to life guaranteed tohumans under the constitution. Everything issucked out into a bottle" (Whitney 94).
