Proposal: Abortion: Should women have to get the fathers approval before going through with the procedure?
             In a recent survey of 2624 women, 43% say that they should be allowed to go through with the procedure even if the father objects. Abortion, for over 15 years, has been a heated debate of moral and ethical right and wrong. But with all the heated protesting of whether it should be legal, the fathers opinion has always been left out. Many women believe that abortion is a women's choice. They believe it is their body, and with that in mind, they should be the only ones involved in the decision of whether or not to keep the child. But a very important voice isn't being heard. That is the voice of the father. Should men be allowed to halt the procedure if he wants to keep the child?
             I chose this topic for several reasons. I have had several close friends end their pregnancy without consulting the father of their baby. Should they have had to tell the father and risk being a single mother. The idea of becoming a father may be exciting at first, but when it comes right down to it, are they going to be willing to step up to the plate. When the initial excitement of becoming a father wears off and reality begins to set in, are they going to stick around for the long run. Many women begin tier pregnancy with the idea of a "happily ever after" ending. But it turns into a nightmare when the men become scared of losing their freedom and realize what a large responsibility they have ahead of them.
             Many people can say that it's wrong and deceitful to end a pregnancy without consulting the father, but are they going to be the single mother. Men are not the ones enduring 9 months of physical and emotional change. They have the opportunity to pick up and go whenever they please.
