Movie Review: Good Will Hunting

             Education is not always taught in the classroom and sometimes the smartest students are not even enrolled in some type of school. These statements are true regarding the film Good Will Hunting. I chose this movie to review because it expresses the ideas above through an interesting teacher/student relationship which helps me and others realize that teaching can be done anywhere with anybody at any class level.
             Good Will Hunting can be categorized as a drama as well as a narrative that has a screen time of 125 minutes. This film is viewed through an omniscient point of view. It tells the story of a college age male, Will Hunting (Matt Damon), who works as a janitor at the prestigious MIT. MIT is the setting for this movie as well as the city it is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Hunting is a dynamic character, having a major role in the film as he is what the movie is about. We learn a lot about his past and more stuff about him as the film progresses making him also a round character. Will Hunting is a hardworking young man,
             yet is at times rebellious, often getting into trouble with the law mostly due to fighting. Early in the film we are shown that his only goals in life seem to be getting into fights, drinking excessively, and trying to pick up girls with his best friend Chuckie (Ben Affleck). Chuckie is a minor character giving us some insight into Will's young life, however we do not know much about Chuckie making him also a flat character. He has been with Hunting from the beginning and is at first the only one to believe in him. No one but Chuckie seems to take notice that Hunting is a genius especially when it comes to mathematics. He is constantly telling Will that he wants to show up at his house and him not be there but even he can not get Will to take notice that he has so many opportunities out there for him.
