AIDS Proposition Paper

             Diseases such as AIDS, Acquired Immune Deficiency Disease, destroy many countries' lives and weaken the success of many nations, so why would we want our country be weakened or even destroyed? We already have a lot of people living with HIV/AIDS in the United States and we are doing everything in our power to stop the virus from spreading, so why would we want to threaten our country by letting people with HIV/AIDS in the U.S.? Aren't we all working together to keep the virus out, so why let it in? The more people with HIV/AIDS we let in our country, the more HIV/AIDS will spread all over the U.S.
             Many people in the U.S. don't even understand AIDS or how it's spread, so they hate and fear people who have AIDS. Much of the fear comes from ignorance and misunderstanding. Education is the most effective tool against AIDS, which many people do not get. Many people don't know anyone who has AIDS. That's because most of the people who do have HIV/AIDS, don't tell anyone for the exception of family and close friends and keep it a secret. Some, are simply embarrassed and scared to tell anyone about their disease, and some don't even know they have the disease for years, so they keep on living their normal lives and infecting other people by having unprotected sex or sharing needles. HIV/AIDS are a hazard to health and safety of people, and like other communicable diseases, AIDS can strike anyone. Immigrants from other countries with HIV/AIDS will only make this hazard worse, destroying our nation, making it weaker with the disease.
             OF course, to some people the U.S. might seem cruel and greedy for not letting people with HIV/AIDS in the country, but however the U.S. is trying really hard to get rid of the virus not only here, but also, all over the world. In fact, the U.S is the largest bilateral donor of HIV/AIDS assistance, providing around 50% of all international HIV/AIDS funding. Since 1986
