An Event

"Oh, my God! What happened? I'm in so much pain. Mom answer me! Where's Craig, is he okay? How come you're not answering me? Hello! Where is my boyfriend? Somebody please tell me what has happened." "Craig is in surgery, things are not looking so good for him." Those words still linger through my mind whenever I drive down stable road, a deadly road and a night, which brought major destruction to my life. It was early February, and my boy friend and I were on our way home from a party. I barely remember what happened, everything happened so quickly.
My boyfriend Craig and I were at a Valentines Day dance at our friend Michael's house. Everyone was drinking, smoking and partying hard. I was on my thirteenth drink and we hadn't been there for very long. Craig got worried about me, so he told me to stop drinking and that we were going to leave. I wouldn't listen, something inside of me told me 'no you have to stay here where it's safe.' I told Craig that we couldn't leave the party, that I had a gut instinct would be dangerous but he thought I was so wasted and hat I was just rambling on. He said he was going to leave with out me then. I couldn't let him leave alone so I left with him.
ON the way home I still felt weird about being out and I had no idea why. Something in my head was saying pull lover now. I told Craig to pull over and don't ask any questions. He didn't listen. He thought it was the booze in my talking and just wanted to get me home safe and in my bed. I kept protesting but I was having no luck. Then out of know where came lights headed strait for us. Craig tried to move and swerve but it was too late.
I remember waking up in the hospital later that night. I was in such pain and confusion; my parents were sitting next to me holding my hands when I woke up.
