             China- value scale=positive virtues where female has 3 submissions to father, son, and husband, good behavior where wifely respect for in-laws, negative behavior where female licentiousness, and evil behavior where wives have jealousy, divorce, and going against family wishes. Buried with family.
             Hindu- called vaishya, patriarchal society, dominated by men, trade has low volume with high prices, difficult for female, strong caste system, no fluctuation between caste levels.
             China- trade against public interest, land is measured w/ wealth, strong regulation of trade be government, scholar-gentry=exam passer, given land and opportunity to take next exam.
             Hindu-male birth celebrated while female birth is looked down upon, female is inferior, gets in way of male, 4 stages of life-student, householder, retirement (forest dweller), sannyasin (waiting for death), idea of Karma, idea of yoga-8 stages, 4 paths to Hindu goal-knowledge, love, work, psychological excersises.
