Body Piercing Tattooing
Throughout society, body piercing and tattoos are often seen as dirty, disgusting, irresponsible, and trashy. In my opinion, I feel as though body piercing and tattooing are good expressions of personality. I am absolutely for piercing and tattooing. When I came home from college one day, I randomly decided to get my tongue pierced. I had wanted it for a long time and I knew my mom wouldn't allow me to have it done, so I went through with it without her permission. I waited till I was the legal age of 18 in order to get it done. That night, I went back to my house and although my tongue was very swollen, nobody noticed. The only reason why my older sister noticed is because I yelled at her. I think that I wanted her to notice so I could see her reaction. My younger brother found out later that week and to my surprise, he did not tell my mother. My mom found out 3 weeks later when we got into a fight and started a yelling match. She said, "what is that in your mouth?". Thinking quickly, I replied, "um, nothing". I was scared to show her for fear of her reaction, but I showed her anyway realizing there was no way getting around it. All she did was look at me with an upset look and told me to leave and continue
One of the twins decided to get her tongue pierced. Body art is very addicting. Another example is that it is more accepted in our society than others. Some religions do not approve of these body markings. An example is that we are more sterile and clean. In my argument for body art and piercings, it is a good way forgone to express their personality. In my opinion to her piercing, I personally would never get it done, but she greatly enjoys it. Now she wants to get something else done because she feels that it is addicting. You also have to be 18 years of age to get either done. Even though he is showing his love for his religion, he is scarring himself and I feel he is basically mocking his religion. For instance, if someone with a nose piercing or a tattoo were to walk down the street in New York, most would not think anything of it, whereas if the same person were to walk around in another country where their beliefs are different, that person might get treated unfairly and looked at as inhumane. I told her that she wouldn't do it; yet she went through with it and ended up getting her clitoral hood pierced. Body piercings can be temporary where as tattoos are indefinite and can only be removed by a very expensive laser surgery. Piercings have changed from traditional ear piercings all the way down to genital piercings.
