Wentworth Military Academy
Wentworth is my home. It may sound strange, someone having adopted a military school environment as their home, but it's true. Here, I have found friends and structure and while I am angry with it much of the time, it is always here for me. Whoever thought that I would enjoy being at a place I didn't choose to come to in the first place? Not many people would have thought that. In fact, many people were astonished that I chose to come back this year.
asons I love it so much is the structure. We train together, live together, eat together. The last thing I would like to talk about is the friendships that you will make. As a reward for staying out of trouble and keeping our grades up, we get rewards, such as getting to check out (leave campus) during the weekend and one night a week during supper ans study time. The people I met last year, even the ones that didn't come back, are still generally closer to me than my worst enemy back home. Here, if you continually do well and set the example, they will reward you with position and rank. Right now, I am currently the Academic NCO for Tango Company and am a staff sergeant. Every night, from 7:30-9:15, we are forced to sit at our desks and study. Many people that didn't do their homework at home now find themselves getting so bored that even homework seems fun and therefore get their assignments done. With this position and rank come much responsiblity, but also much respect. While some schools are tolerant of many things, this school buckles down on the people who continually screw up and make them fix themselves before they continue. Another reason I love it here is the study time, called CQ's.
