Tyson Food's Inc. is the world's largest supplier of chicken, beef and pork. The company's segments include chicken, beef, pork, prepared foods and other. Other includes foods such as pasta, meat dishes, pizza crusts, soups, sauces side dishes and meat toppings. I will focus my report on the meat-processing unit. (Chicken, beef, and pork) These products are marketed and sold to national grocery chains, grocery wholesalers, meat distributors, clubs and warehouse stores, industrial food processing companies, chain restaurants, export companies, domestic distributors who service chain restaurants, food service operations, convenience stores, hospitals and other vendors.
             Their marketing focus is to add value to their products to meet the demand of protein lovers. This means they want to extend their innovations by producing not only meat, but also pre-cooked, pre-marinated, pre-cut and pre-breaded meats.
             Tyson ranks 72 on The Fortune 500 List with revenues of 24,474 million last year and $337 million in profits. Their growth rate for sales is 5.1% while the profit growth rate is –12%. Tyson also appears on other lists including Americas Most Admired Companies with an overall score or 6.35, Global 500 ranked 197, and 100-Fastest Growing Companies ranked 44. In August 2001, Tyson acquired IBP Inc. for 1.7 million in cash. This helped increase sales, market share and shareholder confidence
