Thomas Ince's Civilization was very dramatic and easy to follow. Although it's a silent film you are able to do your own narration. Family was apart of society and that civilization that if the woman weren't around and didn't play a major role the family wouldn't be kept together. This film I think was very influential to the viewers because Ince hits on all the main factors. This is shown through the women's and family's role. Horrifying visuals, side effects and he piles on extreme situations after another. Thomas Ince's masterpiece is an anti-war drama that combines spectacular battle scenes, religious symbolism and a tender story. Thomas Ince even though he claims he is not a pacifist has created a successful anti-war film. The men and military assumed that they were the one who sustained the expanding domestic homes. " The women were the force for peace as they marched to the king asking him stop war. One woman said, "You can not take him, he belongs to me," and the officer replied, "No, he belongs to his country. Broken hearted families and innocent people dying one after another. Several explosions of smoke, that begging for their lives and for a happy ending, peace was finally found. He has the visions of Christ and preaches peace and shows Count Ferdinand and the king consequences and the horror in it all.
