Classical Reading

This winter I read The Catcher in the Rye. I was very displeased when I came to the end. I had many questions. I wanted to know what happened after Holden got home. I wanted to know if his parents understood even though I doubt they did. I wanted to know if they sent him to another boarding school or if they decided they could handle him now. I did like the way Salinger wrote the book though, he told the story like a 16 year old boy would, not as a 50 year old man.
My hope is that in AP English I will encounter this same experience with literature. On my own I read at least 2-3 books a month from fiction to non- fiction stories. I not only want to learn more about English and literature but I would also like to get the chance to receive college credit. I believe that enrolling in AP English would better suit my long-term education goals than English 12.
The requirements for AP English will help me not only now but also in my future college classes and beyond. After reading, The Face of Deception by Iris Johansen, I decided to find out more about the career of the main character, a forensic psychologist. Had I not opened up this book, I might not have ever become interested
