Gambling analysis

             Gambling has been hot topic of debate for two decades. Still many people are discussing over this complex issue. There are many experts and groups who have come up with many arguments. They used various strategies to convince people whether gambling should remain or not. In this essay, two pro and con arguments are analyzed in order to figure out what strategies each author used.
             Felicia F. Campbell and William N. Thompson, leading experts of the gambling issue, wrote effective argumentative essays to express their opinions and change the society. Both writers took different aspects of gambling to support their opinions and enhance their strategies for the debate over the gambling issue.
             Gambling and medicines have lots of similarities. For the right quantity of use, they may contribute to all mankind. With excessive amounts, however, both of them will harm lives. Gambling A Controlling Substance by William N. Thompson showed comparisons and contrasts of drugs and gambling. Thompson told his audience the difference between gambling and drugs. According to him, drugs are usually tested before people use it for safety. By impartial testes FDA assure that drugs are safe and will not destroy mental or physical health. Nevertheless, is gambling examined for people's safety?
             The author took the words of O'Brien, former Director of Gaming Enforcement, " that product is not entertainment or recreation or leisure. It's really adrenaline" Thompson credited his words to cry out gambling has same property as illegal drugs. Both gambling and illegal drugs are not beneficial to people, but are "mind-altering substances" that should be watched and administered.
             Author implied that gambling and illegal drugs such as crack cocaine and heroine have same characteristic but he also mentioned that our society do not permit distribution and usage of such drugs.
