Princess Alexandria Victoria was born on May 24,1819 to the duke and duchess of Kent. Unfortunately the duke passed away shortly after her birth. " Victoria became the empress of India in 1876 she ruled the largest empire the world had known. As the personal embodiment of her kingdom, Victoria was eager to ensure her country was in high esteem through out the world as an economically and militarily powerful state and as a model civilization. Victoria was the official head of state not only of the United Kingdom but also the growing British Empire, which included Canada, Austria, India, New Zealand, and large parts of Africa. It was due to thisobstinacy that Victoria was able to assert here power over her empire. Several years pasted by and Victoria was completely devastated by Albert death, which occurred on December 14, 1861. Queen Victoria also organized housing arrangements for England's less fortunate citizens and medical care for the workmen in England's factories. Queen Victoria was a determined, high-minded, and often ill-natured woman, yet these traits, which seemed negative, were actually quite admirable. In 1876 she was crowned Empress of India by Disraeli. However, with the guidance of her extraordinary prime ministers, Victoria was able to be victorious in the Crimean and Prussia war. Albert also supplied England with his wonderful expertise in political and social issues. Her popularity was at its lowest by 1870, but it steadily increased thereafter until her death. Queen Victoria was the pride of England, and she was truly concerned for the well being of her nation because everything she did was for the love,glory, and honor of her empire. " The Crimean War (1853-1856) was fought between Russia and the allied armies of Great Britain, France, The Ottoman Empire, and Sardinia, England did not inter the war until 1854.
