Corruption of Christianity

During the Feudal times, Christianity was faced with countless problems. The beliefs of Christianity were being corrupted left and right. In my essay I am going to describe in detail what led to the downfall of Christianity. The factors I am going to describe are the wrong doings by the Roman-Catholic Church, the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition. To begin, the Church faced numerous problems that corrupted the beliefs of Christianity. These problems were brought onto the church, by the Church its self. They made many mistakes, which went against Church Law.Village Priest were married and had families; this was against church ruling and strictly forbidden, but yet it went on in staggering numbers. During the fourth Crusade, Richard the Lion Heart goes into the Muslim city of Constantinople and sacs the city. Last but not least, The Spanish Inquisition. The Crusaders stole almost all of their weapons they used for battle. He said what he wanted to get want he wanted. Today, the Roman-Catholic church refuses to look at these startling facts any denies any wrong doings during that time period. Those who confessed their beliefs were treated even worse. Not only did he crush the weak army, after he defeated them, he had some 3,000 innocent men, women, and children slaughtered. The Spaniards tried to drive out the Moors out of Spain. The corruption of Christianity reached its highest peak during this time. They raged a war on anyone who was a Moor and Muslim. These bishops were appointed by the Kings, and they took orders from them. Pope Urban II guaranteed a place in heaven to any man who fought in the Crusades. In many cases, they were tortured for weeks and then burned alive at the stake. This certainly corrupted the Church.
