Create A Society

             As a member of Group 1 and one of the five colonists arriving on a new planet, my goal is to assist in establishing the six major institutions for this new society. Our six institutions are government, economics, education, religion, family and arts/entertainment. My contribution to this new society will be providing a structure for creation of the divine, or ideology, for the new planet. First let's examine our first institution, the government.
             We decided to establish a total democracy that relies on free enterprise. We will divide the planet into six separate colonies, with leaders from each institution, until the voting process is in place. Political parties will become defunct, and the Electoral College will not be used for the election process. A straight flat tax of 15% will be placed on all workers and Social Security will no longer be needed. The government will utilize a House of Representatives, represented by percentage of each colonies population and will represent all men and women. The Senate will remain in place, like on Earth. Both of these will have only 2-year terms. The Presidency will have a term of 4 years. The Constitution from Earth will remain in force, except the Right to Bear Arms, will not be effect. The Judicial Branch will unanimously elect judges to sit on the Supreme Court, but smaller courts will be established by each colony. Our government will represent the wishes of the common man.
             The next institutions we addressed were economics. Our goal in establishing the economy of this new planet will be to supply our inhabitant's will all the products they will require. Our farming communities will be of the utmost importance in this new economy, since we only have food for one year. A flat tax of 8% will be taxed on wages and products, except for food or medicine.
