Declaration of Independence

In the new world of America there was the United Colonies, which was being controlled by Great Britain. The Colonies had been treated not as equals but as the under dogs. They taxed heavily on almost everything, sugar, glass, paper and tea. All of these were things that the colonist depended on for theireveryday life's. But the Colonist didn't stand for taxation with out representationin Parliament. So there was protest held against the taxing of goods that were regulated by Great Britain. Soon congress would speak out against not being independent of Great Britain. Richard Henry Lee made a speech in congressin 1776, he stated that "these United Colonies are, and of right ought to be freeand independent states". Many congressmen hoped that Great Britain would cooperate with there right of independence. But others knew that Great Britain would never give that right , they also knew the war had already begun. So

So that change can be made if it is necessary to make the nation a more free place. And I think that our government is for thepeople because it is run by us the people. For me I hold true being thankful for all that has been lost to give me thisgreat freedom of being an American. As of July 4, 1776, all thirteen colonies had considered themselves as free independent states. I see it on the news of howpeople are treated by there own government every day. They are also saying the only way make a government work with these God given rights is to let the people govern it. But also he can do anything or be anything he wishes. Know the time had come for the people of Colonies to write what they had desired for. The man chosen to write was Thomas Jefferson he was very good with wordsbut also knew what the declaration meant to the people of this young nation. They will also go on to win this war making them absolutely free of Britain hands. there was a need for a declaration to declare independence. One point Jefferson made in the declaration was to end slavery for good. In this clause of the Declaration of Independence there is much truth being said that makes our country what it is today. But it still had to be presented to congress to be approved.
