Perfect Society (female pov)
My perfect society would be a small community based out in rural America and would be called Spectra. Spectra would be a rather close-knit city, quaint and peaceful and so away from the rest of the world, the kind where everyone knows everybody. It is not the sort of town where everyone gossips though; everyone hates the idea of being talked about poorly behind their backs, for it is centralized around the idea of kindness towards others. I would be the leader and would run this community with great skill, providing for each and every citizen, for everyone is equal. Spectra would be run by Monarchy, which would be controlled by a leader who passes on the throne through the family, much like a dynasty. A small Cabinet would aid me, Queen of Spectra, in running the society and manage law and order. The Cabinet would consist of ministers who specialize in certain departments of the community. They include the Chancellor of the Exchequer, who runs the Treasury; the Home Secretary, takes special care of the police, prisons, and other inner community aspects, and the Foreign Secretary, his or her brilliant mind dealing with the outside world and protecting our perfect society from its dangers. But of course, I wou
This exam, however, must be retaken at sixty-five to ensure that one would not a threat on the road. Spectra would have a whole section of land reserved solely on the growth of food. Of course there would be no murder or theft, but also the right to an attorney and a prohibition against the owning of firearms, a highly scowled upon weapon. " Schools would be divided up into three levels of five ages each, a "lower" school for ages four through eight, an "intermediate" school for ages nine through thirteen, and "upper" school for ages fourteen through eighteen, setting the students into comfortable and suitable environments for learning. Required courses each year would include mathematics, literature, sciences, and history in ascending and appropriate levels for each age. If someone does not have a job by age twenty, they would be fined five hundred dollars, and if it persists they may be discharged from Spectra; this would be government law. This would be the code because it symbolizes what Spectra stands for: kindness. Schooling would be started promptly at age four, and when I say age I mean age by the year in which the child turns four, when the children, whose brains are hungry for knowledge, are quite ready for learning. Therefore the goal of many Spectrans would be to be as kind to others as possible, making crime low and spirits high. One may be sued if it is proven that they committed adultery and you cannot marry at all until you are twenty-four years of age, for that is the age at which the brain is fully developed and able to make such an important decision. Homosexuals would be allowed to adopt a maximum of two children, or have two "test-tube" children. Smoking of any sort would be prohibited in Spectra, including spitting, chewing, and any sort of drug that causes bodily harm. They would not become entangled in international travesties or succumb to the worldly temptation for power, always avoiding battle and international warfare. Therefore, Spectra would be the most peaceful, not to mention neutral, community in the world. As for religious issues and beliefs, it would be a freedom of the common folk to choose what to believe, if anything at all.
