Is There Such Thing as TOO Much Defense?

"Yesterday, December 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of theEmpire of Japan...As Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense..." Franklin D. Roosevelt stated this to the people of the United States, the day after the attack from Japan. On this day, the Japanese Empire weren't the only people to "defend" ourselves from, but Japanese-Americans were also put on that list of "threats" to the nation. Some of those "measures" to be initiated was the relocation of ALL JAPANESE-AMERICANS from the west coast. Shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Japanese-Americans found themselves being forced out of their homes and properties, to be sent into assembly centers. Thousands and thousands of Japanese-Americans had to drop everything and report to certain areas depending on wear they lived. They had to leave almost all of their belongings behind, if anything was over 100 lbs. it had to be left behind. This also applied to non-Japanese who were married to Japanese-Americans, they too were sent to these assembly centers. These assembly centers were horrible, and occupants

decided to recruit a special Nisei unit; the 442nd regiment. Shortly after the WWII ended, the Japanese interment camps were shut down, the occupants of the camps were now set free, but where would they go? They were left with nothing, and had no where to go. This regiment was one of the most awarded regiments in the army, and received over 18,000 individual decorations. Imagine being forced to go into these camps, and then thee U. When ever something bad happens to this country, let's blame the colored man. After many hours, or even a few days, Japanese-Americans arrived at their new homes for the next few years. All the occupants in the assembly centers were forced into trains; they had no idea where they were headed. that they were loyal citizens, and had their allegiance to the U. They were extremely daring for excepting all those missions, which were basically suicide missions, they were the front line in most battles, and they charged on yelling, "Go for broke. This regiment also suffered tremendous amount of casualties the 442nd suffered almost 9,500 casualties. I also think not a lot had changed, ever since 9-11, many people across the U. In response to the propaganda the U.
