Aborigionality

Aboriginal Spirituality is a unique religion, which I have learned a lot about. Aboriginal Spirituality goes back far, archeologists have found artifacts from 10 000 years ago like wampum, animal paintings and much more. I also have a picture of an Indian painting, which seemed more interesting to me after learning about Aboriginal Spirituality. Aboriginal traditional stories about genesis, have a lot of spiritual power, and are very important to their beliefs. Aboriginal Spirituality is found al

. . .
I learned that The Inuit’s pay homage to the souls of killed animals, which is very different from the Catholic beliefs. A main belief in Aboriginal Spirituality is that everything on the world is alive. Aboriginal Spirituality culture groups all have different creation stories, such as “Turtle Island” believed by the Aboriginals of the Northeast Woodlands. The vision quest where the youth prays, fasts, and waits for a vision is also another interesting ceremony. Aboriginal cultures pass stories, prayers and other important information on from generation to the next, through the oracy of elders and shamans. Aboriginal people use Totems to be linked with their mythical ancestors. I have also learnt a lot about Aboriginal Spirituality and found it very interesting. Many believed that Aboriginal Spirituality is polytheistic; unlike my religion in Catholicism we are monotheistic. Another belief is in animism, and reincarnation. A main concept I have learned is everyone has his or her own opinion and we should respect that. Aboriginal people are very traditional and they stick to their practices and rituals such as the Morning Dance (which pays homage to the “tree of the universe”), the Sun Dance (which pays homage to the sun’s life-giving powers), Potlatch Ceremony (which is a celebration of an important event like marriage), the Sweat Lodge (which is to renew the soul and help regain focus, directed by a shaman) and the Shaking Tent (which is to communicate with spirits). The government has previously banned certain ceremonies such as the Sun Dance and the Potlatch, which are now legal.
