Gays in the military
Should gays and women be allowed in the military? People in the United States have different opinions on whether or not homosexuals should be allowed in the military or not. Many people feel that gays should not be allowed in the military. They feel that these people are not strong enough mentally and they show weakness to our country.I believe that gays and women should be able to be in the military without any criticism or racial remarks. I believe that someone who wants to be in the military whether he or she is a homosexual or not should be without any argument. It is nobodies business whether these people or homosexuals or not. The issue pertaining to women in the military has been a controversy for over 60 years. Women have been allowed to vote since the early 1900s. Giving this freedom to them opened doors for them. They feel that if men can go to war and fight for there country, then they can too. Going in the military for Female's who have tried to gain access to "All Men" facilities and have been pressured out of it. This small group of women have fought hard, and pressured the Government to change regulations dealing with the inclusion of all people, whether female or male, and giving them all the same opportuni
It is sad to see our country so bothered and uptight about someone a little different from everyone else. There is a big controversy between gays and women being allowed to serve in the armed forces. I believe that some day this problem will be solved. People in the United States were given the rights to freedom of speech and freedom alone. Some people feel that congress should intervene with this issue and others feel that they should not even have a say because it has nothing to do with them. He should do what is right for our country and let everyone be equal. Yes, they can get in trouble for what they say but, they are still allowed to voice their own opinion. The policy "don't ask, don't tell" policy is too harsh. He is the leader or our armies and should not let the woman and homosexuals be discharged because of their way of life. Everyday gays and women are being harassed and abused. People need to be able to voice their opinion whether the United Stated likes it or not. Some people say that by abolishing the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, it will end discrimination against gays in the military. It's time for the army to lift its ban on homosexuals completely. Congress has a very high authority and should be able to control some of the actions of the military.
