Short Story Incorporating Phobia
A sudden breeze of wind grazed a lone strand of hair. A hand gently pushed the strand back into place.. The stench of rotting food and the homeless drenched in their drunken haze and filth consumes the nostrils of the silent man who sits motionless amongst the crowd. Thousands of voices and sounds being passed through the air. He heard none of them except for one. His own thoughts. Memories of a time where happiness came daily. Now that elation had been stolen. Ripped from his life as he struggled to steal it back. Her smile. Her touch. Her voice. Her eyes. Gone. Ripped away with no remorse. Remembering that night, when he collapsed in a heap of despair, after venting all his frustrations into holes in walls and broken chairs. Gaining nothing but bloodied knuckles. He couldn’t comprehend what had just happened. There wasn’t anything to comprehend anyways. They took her. For no single meaningful reason she had been torn from his life. He tried to raise himself up from the ground but his arms gave out easily. A sharp pain cut into him as pieces of the broken mirror had shattered earlier sliced into his back. He tried again to get up but failed, this time landing on his side into the sea of broken glass. As he . . .
“What does that mean?” Exactly what it’s supposed to mean. With ease, he was thrown across the room into the kitchen. When I found her, I doubted in myself. It doesn’t matter, you didn’t love her anyways. But the more I talked to her the more I started to fall for her. How it always rid him of this troubles. “I think I can handle that sweetie. “Hey! He’s starting to wake up!” Someone screamed a little to close to his ears which now rang merciless. “You’re wrong” The words resonated through the room as he managed to speak even with the choking hand grasped around his throat. So many people everywhere yet none of them were who he was looking for. Why can’t I have her back? I did love her, I know I did.
