Abuse

I would like to start out with the basic definition of abuse; it is defined as anything that is harmful, injurious, or offensive to a person animal or for that matter the environment. There are three main types of abuse I'm going to talk about today the first is physical abuse such as pushing, shoving or hitting and kicking. The next is sexual abuse this may be inappropriate touching, molestation, or even rape. And last but probably the most common is verbal/mental abuse. This consists of verbal put-downs, i.e., you're stupid you're worthless, one person purposely humiliating another, domination and control, or even withdrawal of affections. If nothing else I really hope you remember abuse is never the victims fault, never ever. Mental abuse really does exist. It may be something as simple, as a parent telling you that you're lazy. To watching your father beat your mother or sibling. Mental abuse is connected to physical abuse. If you're a victim of physical abuse you are also a victim of mental abuse. However you do not have to be physically abused to be mentally abused. Mental abuse can cause just as much damage as physical abuse or sexual abuse. In fact, it may even cause more because physical abuse will heal. Mental abuse

In domestic situations rape between spouses is the hardest for the victims to report because they may think 'its not rape we are married. This form of abuse can be as simple as someone touching you inappropriately (molestation) or it may be something that sounds like it was ripped off the front page of the newspaper like 'girl raped by family friend/ ice-cream man and is now pregnant at nine years old. ) Now ask your self why did you do it and who were you around when you made fun of that person. If a person keeps their feelings bottled up in side of them they are likely to form depression which without counseling in general will get worse and worse until the person finally does find resolution. Although the victims may feel it is their fault there it just never is! I really hope that you understand if nothing else that the victim is never to blame for the aggressor's actions. Whether it be physical abuse, mental abuse, or sexual abuse they are all detrimental our bodies, minds, and spirits. Almost eighty-five percent if women extremely obese were sexually abused as children or teens. The last type of abuse I want to talk to you about is sexual abuse. In my opinion this is the sickest type of abuse. ' Most victims of sexual abuse know their attacker. In general victims of abuse are embarrassed about the fact that they were beat or what have you because they think that it is some how their fault. I suspected that her father had/was sexually abusing her but I never said anything. They may say "it is my fault I miss led them" or "well, they said my outfit was two inappropriate' maybe they were right. This is especially true with sex crimes. Please understand this is not an excuse by any means, just an insight on what may lead someone to beat or harm another person.
