Gender issues

I believe that gender issues are still a big issue in today's society. All schools are run differently, and have different ways to address gender issues. Gender is a category consisting of behaviors that result from the social, cultural, and psychological factors associated with masculinity and femininity within a society. There are appropriate male and female roles that result from the socialization of the individual within a group. A nation as culturally diverse as the United States consists of a common overarching culture as well as a series of microcultures. These microcultures share most of the core values of the nation-state, but these values are often mediated b

If schools could conduct test-taking sessions for students, hopefully it could increase the SAT scores for females. Teachers can enhance the learning opportunities for these students. Maybe this would give both males and females equal opportunity. Gender issue problems are always being discussed and have very well enhanced over time. From my experience and research, I understand that the Public School Systems are for the most part meeting the needs of gender issues. Many students, particularly African Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans, are group oriented. I believe that all school systems are run differently. But when it comes to the Standardized Tests, males outscore females on both verbal and mathematics. These students experience problems in the learning environment. Males score higher on these tests because SAT test are designed more for the way males solve problems. Because females do so poorly on these tests, their future is in jeopardy. There is a strong belief in the individuality and individualism that exists within the national macroculture. African Americans and Latinos who have not experienced high levels of cultural assimilation into the mainstream culture are much more group oriented. At all levels it is known that females get better grades than males in school. Ethnic communities often much less endorse it.
