Once again, in 1934, "Dancing Machine" one of the group's last big hits for Motown records, reached #1 on the R&B chart and #2 on the Pop chart. Finally, after many years, Katie Jackson, mother of nine Jackson's, comes into play and persuades Michael and his brothers to participate in the Victory Tour of '83. In 1970, "I Want You Back", "ABC", "The Love You Save" and "I'll be There" became four consecutive #1 hits in a nine month period. Joe decided to break from Motown records, for family unity, and sign with Epic Records, yet Jermaine felt that his father-in-law's business had done so much for the group and refused to sign the contract. Thus, Jermaine Jackson left the Jackson 5 for a solo career with Motown, and Randy Jackson, his youngest brother, replaced him. Many of these famous songs are still sung today, because unlike most modern day music, the Jackson 5 sound has a rhythm and tune that never gets old or brushed aside with the times. The boy's youth presented freshness and optimism for the late 60's and early 70's music fans. In the summer of 1968, Bobby Taylor, a performer and producer, stumbled across the amazing singers during one of their gigs at Chicago's Regal Nightclub and sent them straight to Detroit, the heart of Motown. In total, the Jackson 5 sold 13 major albums. In 1983, when he was pleaded to reunite and sing with his brothers in the TV special, 'Motown 25: Yesterday, Today and Forever', Michael agreed but demanded a solo. The 1960's and 1970's were the glory years for the brothers, yet as the boys matured, their values changed and Motown was left with a dilemma.
