Racism double standards
I was at home relaxing, watching sports center on television the other night. When they had Spike Lee quotes they were remarking about. The mood on the set was very jovial and laid back. Spike Lee was talking about in his opinion who the best basketball players of all time were. He said Awhite media@ would make you think that before Larry Bird there were no great players. He also referred to Bird as Athe most overrated player@. And he also said Aif Bird was a blackman he would be just an average player@. To me racist statements. After listening to these comments, and white Spike had to say. I thought about Rush Limbaugh, and the remarks he said about Eagles quarterback Donnovan Mcnabb. Limbaugh was working on the ESPN football game day crew when he said AI think what we=ve had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has
What these men above think, doesn=t bother me. I do think there is a tremendous double standard when it comes to race. k quarterback do well, There is little hope invested in Mcnabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he didn=t deserve. For one it=s the loss of his job to the other it=s just his opinion. Various political leaders have made comments and condemned what the analyst had said. Calling the GM of the Magic a racist and that he had no merit to fire the coach. The comments Rush Limbaugh, made there was a huge public outcry well beyond the NFL community. Comments made by Paul Hornung, former white Norte Dame Football player were all over the news. He talked about lowering the academic standards so they could get the black athlete in the school. The attention they received was again took opposite highways. Implying that Doc was not given a fair chance. Joe Dumars was the GM who fired Carlisle and was an African American. He then vowed to fight for any NBA coach who was wrongly terminated. In my opinion two racist statements with extremely different outcomes.
