             If asked to define the term 'worldview', what would be your suggestion? I believe that the answers would differ from individual to individual quite much, what makes this question a difficult one to answer properly, if that is even possible. Because of the differences in the definitions, it is obvious, that every individual has a different worldview for him/herself. This means, that every character in the novel "The Englishman's Boy" by Guy Vanderhaeghe is representing an individual worldview that differs from any of the other ones.
             Unfortunately, having a more detailed look on every character of the novel is not within the bounds of possibility. That's why I will concentrate on "Aboriginal and Eurocentric Values" in general. To do this, I will refer to the novel's characters of the Indians and the wolfers, including Shorty McAdoo. But I will also include other characters attitudes towards life to support my arguments of the jagged worldviews and, of course, to reveal some slight differences between white characters views and how those can change or even might collide.

             "It must be a poor thing to be a wolf-poisoner, to be ugly, to eat pork, to hate silence. There was nothing to envy these people for, except their guns and horses."
             The displeasure and the disgusted feelings of an Indian towards white men are obviously shown. But try to imagine, this point of view out of an angle of another white man and not an Indian. Would one even be bothered or recognise anything abnormal in this given scene? I do not think so. But why is this so?
             In my opinion, a worldview should contain many different aspects, such as religious, cultural, political and social ones. Depending on where one grows up, with who...
