Eating disorders
Our Society today is plagued with multiple medical problems including eating disorders. Primarily, our society places too much pressure on one's appearance; this may cause eating disorders for all ages throughout the country. Many different types of people are affected with eating disorders. There are two types of eating disorders, Anorexia and Bulimia. Anorexia is when an individual doesn't eat hardly any food or no food at all. Bulimia is when an individual eats a lot of food and throws it up afterwards. Eating disorders are caused by society's opinion on the false image of what being "perfect" really means. Eating disorders are caused in individuals who have a predisposition toward developing them by constant exposure to society's insistence on thinness as the ideal of perfection. However, it is mostly a modern day problem. In the past being fat meant you were wealthy. As life went on our culture began to change. Money wasn't so much the issue anymore; many people didn't have to worry about being able to afford food (Controversies 3).

"Men that are the most vulnerable to eating disorders are men involved in sports, gay men or men that have suffered child abuse. Self-Care procedures are called for in order to recover from this disorder mental and physically. The day before they get weighed in they won't eat anything all day. Although it mainly affects women and adolescent girls, it's possible that some men could develop eating disorders also. Vomiting also can put holes in the esophagus, which can lead to internal bleeding. - Eat at regular times during the day. Consistently seeing this plague is almost brainwashing and corrupting those vulnerable to submission. People who have been involved with eating disorders for a long time get a "high" from not eating because they feel like they are "in -control" of their life and don't want to stop the feeling they get from it.
