Dealing with terrorists
There are many different ways to fight terrorism, but two of them stand out more than the others. One way involves diplomacy and the belief that if you give in to terrorists' demands they will leave you and your people alone. The other way includes diplomacy too, but there is a lot more ass kicking and name taking involved. One might think that there would be an agreed upon method to take on terrorism, but ideas and opinions on the subject vary as much as the terrorists reasons for hating their victims. Some people think appeasing terrorists is cool. Parts of the world have appeased evildoers before, and they are doing it now too. Neville Chamberlain, the once Prime Minister of Great Britain, thought it was cool too. In the late Twenty's and early Thirty's, he and other world leaders where being nice or diplomatic or whatever, and let Hitler build an awesome war machine that terrorized Europe. There is a saying about how to skin a cat, and how there is more than one way to do it. One preemptive decision saved thousands of lives in the forties. Well, seeing as how the history books are not written yet, the end result is still evolving all around us. It involves bombing, sniping, guerilla warfare, espionage, troops, planes, boats, camels, rednecks, tanks, and even atomic bombs. You see, dealing with terrorists can get pretty ugly. Some will say, "They haven't done anything to you!", or "It's not cool to attack people just because they are happy to die killing innocent civilians, they say they want to behead you, convert you to their beliefs, and that you are the devil. The atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan dealt a knock out blow to the Axis powers in World War Two. The American people spoke out when they reelected George W. Appeasement did not work, and other people had to come in and help defend Great Britain. One of the issues in the Presidential elections this year was terrorism. ed the freedom of the rest of the world. Another guy, Tony Blair, Great Britain's Prime Minister, thinks preemptive actions are cool too, even though some of his fellow Labor Party members do not. The end result of all this appeasing was millions of Jews dead, billions of dollars in damage, and an overall not cool situation. The Democratic candidate was not happy with the current administration's choice to preempt an attack from terrorists in Iraq. Although it depends on whom you ask.
