Comparing Adolf Hitler to Sadam Hussein
The Parallelism of Hitler and Hussein In 1935, the World War II began. Along with it came hatred. The strongest hatred was that of Adolf Hitler towards those of Jewish descent. He traced a person's lineage back to previous centuries. If there was one member of that person's family of Jewish descent, they would be marked as a Jew and placed in a concentration camp. In these concentration camps, the victims were stripped of all their clothing and all their belongings were taken away. They were shaved and given a number for identification. They weren't even treated as humans. They slept in bunks, which were infested with lice. The Jews were persecuted to the fullest degree and many lost their lives. Saddam Hussein came into power over Iraq in 1979. During his reign, he and his sons tortured many of the civilians. They made home videos of many of the murders they committed. In one instance, the Iraqi athletes were tortured and beaten if they did not win an event. This mainly took place during the Olympics. Hitler used the harsh economic reparations of the Versailles treaty to unify his people behind his cause. He went on to say that Saddam Hussein is like Adolf Hitler because he has invaded neighboring countries, gassed his political enemies and tortured his own people. A comparison of the two tyrants shows striking similarities, demonstrating why war with Iraq may be inevitable. Both dictators used poison gas against civilians -- the Jews and the Kurds.
