Most Americans have their favorite choice of coastline, either Pacific Ocean or Atlantic Ocean. California AND Florida are the two major tourist attractions states for the average American. Ever wonder how is it really to live there, not just to vacation in the area? So many factors play into comparing and contrasting these two states; housing and living cost, culture, and weather play large roles in the entire impression of the state.
             For some reason, many people believe that California is a lot cheaper to live in then Florida, this is wrong. Everything in California cost more than someone from the sunny state of Florida could imagine. A house on the beach in Florida that cost about 250,000 would cost about 2.5 million dollars in California. This is mainly because the land is so precious in California. Another really good example of the living cost in California or Florida is a two bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment in Florida would cost around 850 dollars a month, but in California it would coat about 1,200 dollars a month. Now do not get all sorts of confused and think that out in California the minimum wage is still about 5.50 an hour, because if a person trying to pay for their own apartment was to be offered that sort of income in California the employer would get laughed at and walked out on. The average hourly worker in California makes about 8.50 an hour, when in Florida they make about 6.00 or 6.50 an hour. So the cost of living as a whole is high out in California, but who can beat So Cal!!!
             The culture in both of these states is wild and different from the rest of the United States. Although Florida has a lot of elderly people living there, because of retirement and that sunny sunshine this does not mean that all is lost in Florida.
