The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man and Citizen created by the National Assembly represented that our misfortunes and corruptions of government are caused by all the negligence, ignorance, and contempt of human rights. It affirmed several sacred rights of men and of citizens, which can be related to the various works of legendary philosophers. The first sacred right in The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man and Citizen declared that 'Men are born, and always continue, free and equal in respect of their rights...' I related this to Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence. In Jefferson's Declaration of Independence, he acknowledged that 'all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.' I decided to choose Thomas Jefferson because after reading his work, his thoughts were completely consistent with the first sacred right in The Declaration Of The Rights Of Man and Citizen. ' I related this right to the reading of 'Grievances of the Third Estate. ' We all have rights and it has been unfair that through the years the rich continue to get richer and the poor get poorer.
