The history of alcohol was traced back to over one-hundred years. Alcohol was
then also used as a source of relaxation or entertainment. Back in the 1800's the Anglo
Americans viewed alcohol as an evil source. During this time period, the Native
Americans consumed the alcohol that was made earlier by the Anglo Americans. Soon
after, the Native Americans began to drink heavily because they were trying to find some
sort of relaxation to forget about the horrid hardships that they were enduring by the
Anglo Americans. Because the Native Americans used alcohol often, the Anglo Americans
used the Native Americans drinking habit against them and referred to the Native
Americans as barbaric animals who drink the evilness. Some Anglo Americans said that
the alcohol caused the Native Americans to be violent. Eventhogh the alcohol caused the
Native Americans to act violent, they were acting out because the Anglo Americans wee
taking over their land, food and people. At the end of the 1800's many people began to
drink more. Some people drank for entertainment, and the others drank for relive. One
example is when many immigrants had migrated to the United States. After the Chinese
migrated to the United States, they faced many obstacles of discrimination like the Chinese
Exclusion Act of 1882 which prohibited all Chinese immigrant from migrate into the
United States. Because the Chinese wee discriminated against strongly by the Anglo
Americans, like the Native Americans, the Chinese resorted to the relaxation of the drug
alcohol which influenced more anger towards the Anglo Americans. As the 1900's began,
many people began to form the Temperance movement. The movement was against
alcohol because it created violence and it was ultimately, affecting
