Martin Luther King
Sitting here thinking about what topic to choose while I was watching TV, when I saw something on Martin Luther King Jr. he was giving one of his speeches. Right then everything came back up in my mind from all the years before that I have studied him. Getting a big grin across my face I knew that this would be a perfect topic for me. Events from Martin Luther King Jr.'s life began flowing through my mind. I already knew so much about him, but there was still a lot more information to discover. I knew about how he did peaceful fights, many speeches, he was assassinated, and influenced many blacks into becoming equal to whites. I have done a lot of research, and found out a lot more about Martin Luther King Jr. I now know when and where he was born, who assassinated him. I know many of his plans, and when he wrote his books, how all he influenced people, and how he changed the life for people that had to live life before he started becoming revolutionary. The first day Mr. R's world studies class. We ending up going down to the library, no one was having any idea what their subject was on. We were supposed to look around and get some ideas on who they might want to research for their project.
They were treated like a piece of property and nothing more. Still today people celebrate on Martin Luther King's birthday. This single man, within a span of 13 years, did something that changed the way people treated others because of the color of their skin. His birthday, January 15, is a national holiday, celebrated each year with education programs and displays throughout the United States. When someone died on the ship, the corpse would remain there for a number of days, making the smell on the ship unbearable. His life was in constant danger, but his interest was always in freedom and equality for everyone. He was the dominant force in the civil rights movement. I think I need to work on time management and organizing all of my information. In December, 1865, Amendment 13 was adopted to the Constitution. The cruelty and discrimination continued towards blacks, some so deep within the skin that it is hard for many people to bring up or even think about. is revolutionary because he led blacks to freedom in a nonviolent way. The content of my project provides a lot of information. I felt that day that I had enough to support my topic and how he was revolutionary, so I started to work on my project. In 1963, King led a massive march on Washington DC where he delivered is now famous, "I Have a Dream" speech.
