             In todayís athletic world there is an increased desire for physical perfection, which is why performance-enhancing drugs are on a high demand for professional athletes. The use of these drugs is a huge problem in many sports. These athletes need to keep taking drugs to stay ahead of other athletes taking drugs. Many of these athletes deny they use performance-enhancing drugs and if they do take them they say there not addicted.
             There was a Dateline special on television a few weeks ago that showed how many professional athletes use these drugs for the hugest of sporting event. Marian Jones won three gold medals in the 2000 Olympics, and Mark Maguire hit 62 home runs to surpassed Roger Marisís record of 61; both of these amazing athletes were users of performance-enhancing drugs. Both of those athletes were viewed as the best at there sport.
             Athletes that take drugs often become the best at there sport. They make million of dollars, and a lot of fame. To keep up this physical condition, athletes think they must keep on taking drugs to keep the money and fame. These athletes that took a shortcut to start out are still trying to stay ahead by abusing steroids or performance-enhancing drugs.
             Many athletes say they need to take the drugs to keep up with others using drugs. If that is the case these performance-enhancing drugs must be outlawed from all sporting events. Random tests catch many athletes. Every professional sports event should have a drug test before every game, and have random drug tests anytime during the week. Anyone can see that athletes are getting bigger, faster, and stronger and it needs to be controlled.
             There is a widespread problem of performance-enhancing drugs that needs to be controlled. If anyone is caught with or tested positive should have all there championships revoked and should be band from that
