Walt Disney

A Man of Dreams "Why is this man Important?" From a mind so complex comes an empire bigger than Disney could ever have imagined. Walt Disney gave laughter and imagination to the world of his own. His creative genius has helped people escape from the everyday struggles they face; from hunger to sickness, from loneliness to isolation and from helplessness to depression. One man's imagination, from the small beginnings of a simple cat named Oswald, grew into something so extraordinary that would even amaze Walt Disney himself, a simple man

Quoted by Disney, "I don't want the public to see the world they live in while they are in the park (Disneyland). I want to them to feel as if they are in another world," (40). Disney has made a world where everyone feels they can feel free and relaxed; a world where all you worries and fears dissolve, even if it is just for a second that second could be the best thing that has happened to you in a long time. From cartoons and stores to amusement parks Disney has left a touch of himself in all of these areas creating a world that has entertained many of people's lives. Walt Disney gave laughter and imagination to the world by developing a world of his own. Walt Disney fulfilled a vision that at times seemed impossible, but became the most well known man of all time. As quoted by Disney, "All our dreams can come true, if we have to courage to pursue them," (76). Disney followed through on his dream which lead him to many Noble Prices and a legend to the whole word. I admire Disney in many ways but mainly because of his ability to entertain millions of people everyday and make every single one of those people smile at least once. Disney could not be more accurate with the quote referring to Disneyland as "The happiest place on earth," no matter how depressed you feel a dose of a day at Disneyland is exactly what the doctor ordered. Disney had a dream no matter what obstacles there were he would jump those hurdles and kept striving for the finish line. Walt Disney has become a legend based on his genius and imagination. As a performer and a dreamer I would love to know that through my dream and entertainment I have helped make the day of millions of people.
