The Beginning of My Journey to College
When I finally made the decision to attend Hampton University; along with that decision came the Pre-College program, that I was advised to attend in order to become acquainted with the school. The months that lead up to June 18th were filled with excitement and anticipation. There was no time more exciting than the last days before I left. I was ready. Ready to take the next step and become a student at Hampton. Though everyone I know that has attended Hampton has thoroughly enjoyed their experience here, I had to experience it myself. I was a little skeptical of the Historically Black University, because despite Hampton's high status amongst its fellow Historically Black Colleges and Universities, it does not rank as high, amongst other schools. Though I can say Hampton seems to be a school filled with people who have absolutely no power in their lives outside of the school gates, so they choose to go on power trips, at school. I was instructed to go to Du Bois Hall, where I once again found the incompetence of the administration, in the form of a full dorm.
