Christianity

In terms of the number of adherents, Christianity is by far the largest religion in the world and the most active of all faiths with 1.9 billion Christians spread across the world. Christianity originated in Israel, on the birth of its founder, Jesus of Nazareth in Bethlehem. Jesus, born of the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit, began his ministry at the age of thirty. His ministry includes call fellow Jews to repentance, proclaiming the approaching of reign of God on earth and performing miracles. He preached the coming of the God's kingdom but was rejected by the Jewish leaders, who delivered him to the Romans who crucified him. On the third day after his death, God raised him up again. He appeared to his disciples, commanding them to spread the good news of salvation from sin and death to all people. This, according to Christian beliefs, is the mission of Christ's church. The resurrection of Jesus was proof of his divinity and incarnation. Christians follow to forceful beliefs: Jesus Christ as the Son of God and that God sent him to live as humans live, suffer as humans suffer and die to redeem mankind and gloriously rise again. During that time, there were two great leaders of Christianity: Saint Peter, the "rock

It rejects the use of icons and images. There are two main rites or sacraments, these are Baptism and the Eucharist, a memorial of Christ's death and resurrection in which he is believed to be sacramentally present. It's a commemoration of the baptism of Jesus Himself by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. But they were willing to accept the Pope as the "first among Patriarchs". The church however treasures relics of saints. He asserted that Christ was composed of two persons: God the Son and the Man Jesus. They also have the seven sacraments (Baptism, Confession, Eucharist, Confirmation, Holy Orders, Holy Matrimony and the Anointing of Oils) and other devotional practices such as benediction, celibacy, rosary, novenas, pilgrimage and prayers for the dead. They abstain meat, wine and dairy during Fridays -crucifixion and death of Jesus, Wednesday -Judas' betrayal, feasts of Peter and Paul and Lent. This was because Constantine the Great, a Roman emperor made Christianity as Rome's official religion. Their beliefs are not much of a difference from the Latin. He was deposed and exiled in Egypt in 436 and in 498, Nestorian Church cut itself free from the Christian Church, after which it expanded throughout Central Asia, Mongolia and China. The Greek Orthodox Church (Eastern) claims to have retained the unchanged and original church traditions of teachings and worships. This lead to the split of the Church into East (Greek) and West (Latin) Churches. The bishops, priests and the deacons follow the patriarch.
