Social Security
The year is 2054 and I am seventy years old. I remember when I was young enough to pay social security tax. I was a young man that believed in the government and that I wouldn't be taxed if it wasn't for my own well-being. I had dreams of retiring with my children having children of there own. My wife and I would buy a small house just for us and we would spend the remaining days of our lives in comfort. But I will be moving in with my son soon. He is building an addition to his house big enough for my wife and I. Luckily I saved enough money through the years on my own to help my son with the burden of having us live with him. He acts like he is happy to help and he probably is, but I just wish that our situation could be different. I want my son to be able to live his own life with his new wife and soon to be born child. If only I wasn't taxed so much on social security in the first place when it was around. Maybe I could have used that money to better my future instead of paying for someone else's. Additionally the average life expectancy is on the rise and doesn't show signs of declining nor slowing down. So before its too late let's make a change. However since our country is use to this "protection plan" I am willing to start slow. I suppose I better hope that they make a good living because much of my financial future depends on there decisions instead of mine. As an American I believe that we should be able to deny Social Security tax, it's our money and it doesn't need to go to someone that didn't earn it.
