Emma

Jane Austen is an amazing writer; once you start reading, you can't stop. She is so good that all of our movies should be based on her written works. Her books are very realistic because she writes about society. Emma is talking about a woman's point of view of marriage and what problems come along with marriage. This may be because Jane never married; she was so close to her father. When he died, the only male figure in her life was gone, and she didn't want anyone else replacing him. She also showed this in the beginning of the novel where it says that Emma didn't want to marry because of her attachment to her father. Marriage for Jane is how the relationship goes which is shown throughout the novel. For example, when Robert Martin proposes to Harriet Smith in a letter. Harriet then responds back in a letter, declining his proposal. Jane focuses on society and relationships between people. The way she writes makes everything seem so real.
