Snow
Ah snow. It's a magnificent element. What other element has as many sports that rely on it? It is an element that not everyone in the world gets to enjoy. But for those of us that do, we should make the most out of it. The cause of snow is simple. Cold weather and precipitation. However, there is more than one way that snow comes to exist. Man has found a way to "artificially" make snow. The way that artificial snow is made takes part of the quality out of the product, but is still nice to have when trying to cover up obstacles on a ski resort. It is important for temperatures to be cold for some time before it actually snows or else the snow will just melt when it hits the ground. When the snow does stick to the ground, it is an awesome sight. Not only is it pleasant to look at, but also is extremely fun to drive on. Not many things can rival the fun had in a rear wheel drive vehicle on a snowy road. It is one of the few things in life that can be extremely dangerous and extremely safe depending on where it is done. There is no other feeling like sliding sideways around a hairpin corner on a wide snowy road, or driving like a drift car racer around a snowy, empty parking lot. It produces a feeling of exhilaration fou
Buying an ATV or old truck will cost you another couple thousand dollars. That is one thing that will never change. However, they are still going to cost a few hundred dollars. Snow comes with the need to shovel and/or plow roads and paths. Snow is not only cold to the touch, but if a person were to lie in the snow; the snow would stick to them and continue to keep the person cold. A cheaper way to go that isn't too hard on the body is buying a snow thrower. Of course it is always best to have a couple feet of powder while skiing or snowboarding, but even hard-pack snow is still fun. It is so very easy to lose control on snow or ice that thousands of people each year lose their lives in winter car accidents. Skiing and snowboarding are the premier winters activities that open up the resorts, although snow shoeing and snow skating are other popular activities at these resorts also. Without snow there is no way any of these things would exist. The cost of plowing can be quite high. Hockey is not as versatile as snowboarding and skiing simply because it has to be much colder for the water to freeze hard enough to skate safely on. However, where hockey can be played, it is usually just as big as skiing and snowboarding. The plow and hardware itself can cost a couple hundred dollars alone.
