Bestbooks Negotiation Simulation Evaluation

             The members of the BestBooks team consisted of Missy, Breannon, and me (Jonathan). Going into this simulation, I didn't know anything about either person in my group (in fact I didn't even remember Missy's name). Shortly after our strategy meeting began, I was educated enough to know that each of them had looked over the sheet we were supposed to read, and had already developed some strategies as to how to best dominate Paige T.'s representatives. I noticed that both of them had very fierce determination to do they best they possibly could during the negotiation. I found that they were easy to work with, and they respected my opinions greatly. It was decided that I was to be the one to sit back during the negotiations and watch for the other team being anxious about any particular thing. It was Missy and Breannon who would be the main negotiators and were to be the ones trying to get as good of deal as possible.
             Some of our priorities were to get as many books clubs signed as possible, to minimize the advance given to Paige, and to get as many countries as possible. We felt that the other team would try to minimize the number of books Paige would sign a contract for in the future, they would also try to get as much royalties as possible as well as trying to get as big of cash advance and signing bonus as possible. So, with our resistance points set when it came to those things, and with anticipation of important goals the team was ready for negotiation.
             The members of the other were Nathan and Danielle. They seemed to anxious to get the negotiations started. I knew that Nathan would be ruthless, but had no clue to how Danielle would respond during the negotiation.
